Mayra and Ivan Engagement Photography | Fairview Park | Costa Mesa, California
I’m so excited to photograph Mayra and Ivan’s wedding next August! Mayra is family! She’s my boyfriend’s sister so soon enough she’ll be my sister-in-law. She and Ivan are totally cute together. Ivan warned me that he never smiles for pictures and I told him that we’d have so much fun with the engagement session that that would be impossible. Brad and Lauren | A look to the past and to the future | Wild Basin Lodge Wedding | Estes Park, Colorado
This wedding was super special to me. I’ve known Lauren since middle school. In high school we got to be great friends, passing the time together in home room, or practicing knowledge bowl questions at lunch. We were also super nerdy at the time. We were in video production together and wanted to go into film school someday. Then we graduated high school and went our separate ways, she went to Boulder, and I went to San Francisco and I eventually moved to France. When I got back from Paris and moved to Palo Alto, I learned that Lauren was in the area too! She had met this guy named Brad in college and followed him out to the west coast where he was getting his Ph. D. It was so great to reconnect with her and become friends again. When she went away to PA school, I got the chance to get to know Brad even more, occasionally dog sitting or house sitting. Neva and Shannon | Capitola Engagement Session
Neva and Shannon are my newest wedding couple. They’re getting married November 11, 2011 at 1:11pm. It’s going to be a intimate ceremony on the beach in Santa Cruz and I couldn’t be more excited for them. They are totally adorable together.
Shannon and Neva got engaged last August on Friday the 13th, a day which always turns out to be such a great day for them. They were out biking with a friend on their annual trip to Tahoe, and Neva had no idea that Shannon was going to propose. They ended up getting lost as they were chugging up a hill. Neva was suggesting they check out a couple of the side trails, then Shannon and the friend took off. Shannon wanted to fill the friend in on the plan and give her a camera to take pics with. Neva on the other hand was ‘extra pissed’, she had just fallen off her bike and was a bit hurt and thinking that the other two didn’t wait for her. When they met up again, Shannon reassured her that she wouldn’t be pissed for long. Neva was dubious. They finally made it to this lovely viewpoint with an outcrop of rocks looking out over all of Lake Tahoe. Trying to settle the still slightly annoyed Neva, Shannon says “Well, I was going to ask you to marry me since it’s Friday the 13th.” She didn’t have the ring out at this point so Neva quickly responds, “You were going to ask me, were you? What happened to that plan?” Shannon quickly pulls the ring out and Neva says, “Oh you ARE going to ask me.” And, of course she said yes, and the rest is history.
