Why I love photography… | Telling Stories and Capturing Moments
Recently my cousin sent a box of negatives he found at my grandpa’s house to a scanning company to get them digitized. Looking through them, I’m reminded why I love photography so much.
There is nothing quite like the story that photos tell. Whether it’s your wedding day or a specific moment in time capturing your family, all photos tell a story. I love the idea that the photos we take today are the ones our grandkids will get to look at and piece together the story of where they came from.
These photos tell a little bit about where I came from on my Dad’s side. It is a little trip through time with my grandpa, my grandma and my dad on trips or in front of a 1950′s Eichler home in a little suburb called Palo Alto through grandparent visits to snowy Colorado to trips to the beach with my brother and I as kids. And of course the stories we live continue, check out our family now. Just like the photos of my dad as a teenager bare an uncanny resemblance to me as a teen, I see the similarities in my brother as a baby and his little son.
Enjoy!

Family Portraits | Ramirez Family
This last weekend when Oscar and I were down in Southern California to visit some friends, we did a photo shoot with his sister, brother-in-law, and baby nephew Danny. Danny just turned one years old and is absolutely adorable. Check out the photos from the shoot!

Family Portraits | My Family and Me
One of the reasons I like doing family portraits so much is because my family means so much to me and I want to do as much as I can to help other families capture the people in their lives so those memories will always be around. This post is just a little something about me and where I came from. I was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where my immediate family still lives. The town is a small town in the northwestern part of the state and it’s a huge ski resort. I try to get back there at least once or twice a year (a much easier feat now that I don’t live in France anymore).
This is my family! My brother, his wife and kids, my Dad and Step Mom, my Mom and my Grandpa. (Not pictured is my Grandma on my Mom’s side). And of course, my boyfriend Oscar who’s amazing. ’Nuff said, Enjoy!
